Bashful Baby!

So tomorrow is my due date and no baby yet. Went to the Dr yesterday and things are progressing a little. I was hoping to be holding he or she by now and well I seem to just be holding it in! I thought that #4 would give me a little break and come a little early but not so, I hope it dose not weigh 10 pounds or I may be in some trouble! So I have agreed to be induced on Monday morning at 6 am if I have not gone on my own by then, heaven help me if I end up going that route. I need all the hope and prayers that this weekend we get a baby so I do not have to go through the torture of being induced. I will do all the coaxing I can in the coming 3 days!

Jhet Dahlen

Congrats to Stacey and Frank on the safe arrival of Jhet on Wed the 19th, he weighed 7 lbs 11 oz and 19 inches long. We were Lucky enough to be in town so we got to go see the little guy. He is so adorable. Tess is still wondering why Aunt Stacey stayed in the Dr's room but we explain now that she is home and she always wants to know if Jhet is buckled in his car seat! She loves all things baby and can not wait to see the babies in cribs, car seats, strollers etc. We are a little worried about how much help Tess will be when we get our baby here. Can't wait to see Jhet again they seem to change in the first few weeks so much.

We are hoping any day for our little bundle to come. It will be so fun to have cousins so close together. Friday is my due date hope it comes sooner than that, but I will keep the reality of probably carrying this one to the due date like all the others. It has been moving around into very uncomfortable positions and my belly will be so lopsided, things are getting snug in there so it is time!

Sat night was another kids rodeo the kids did so well, Koy has now figured out that he wants to be faster and if he kicks with both legs he can get Brogan to loap he beat his own fast times and was so proud of himself. Ash also likes to trot now and she did the single steak event all on her own and trotted down and back, she can also run fast on her feet and won the goat event, she was so proud of her self. Tess is still just happy to do what ever she is so cute running with her little legs to get the ribbon off the goat she gets her little arms going and a grin so big, its cute. We have one more rodeo in September and then the season is done, for the kids.

Week in PC

We just spent the week in PC. Was fun to see everyone. Ash got sick on Tuesday and so we just stayed at Grandmas and relaxed all day. Wed Shelly brought little Mason over and the kids are still talking about how cute and fun to play with he is, I still can not believe how much he looks like Marci and sorry Tyler but he dose have a little red tint to his hair:) We also went shopping on wed and got a few things and went to see Aunt's new and improving yard. Chad Brought Talon over to play and the kids get a kick out of him, he is almost as tall as Ash and towers over Tess, they keep saying when can we go to Talon's house and play, they love all his cool toys! Thursday I had a nerve test done on my hands that go numb all the time and the Dr had a bedside manor like a fence post, I was most disappointed and may not go back to see him, he suggests to wait until the baby is born and 4 weeks after if the symptoms do not go away then have surgery on my right hand. Time always tells! Thanks Aunt for watching the kids they had so much fun at your house they all crashed as soon as we got back to grandmas, I think some times Koy would rather live with you!! Friday we spent heading home, the kids were good on the drive and daddy was sure glad to see us and us him! The kids said today at lunch we miss everybody at Park City, I wish we lived close and could go play all the time. So thanks to all and hope next time we see you its at the hospital ready for the new one to come!

Bronco Bustin in American Falls

Once again Matt did a great job covering this bronc at the American Falls rodeo, he won first place got a nice buckle and a pretty good check. It was a fun rodeo on a Sunday afternoon Mom and Dad came up to see him ride and missed it by 5 minutes, Eric and Stacey also came and was fun to see them and also grateful for Eric's help behind the chutes. Was also nice to go out and eat after and still get home at a decent hour. The weather was nice not to hot and the kids had a good time also. Koy participated in the kids calf scramble, ran all over trying to get the ribbon off the calf's tail but one of the older kids got it but he said did you see I got close! We were kinda surprised he went out there cause he was in a new place with no other kids that he knew, but glad he was not scared!

False Labor

So I have never had false labor before but last Friday on the 7th, Chad's birthday, I thought it was go time but as the day progressed my pains got further and further apart. I was a bit disappointed. So Monday at the Dr I was expecting some big changes in my progress due to all the labor pains I had, another disappointment, I had made a little progression but nothing spectacular ahhhhhhhhhh. I guess this one will come when it wants to just like the others! I was sure greatful to mom helping me out with the kids at the doctor and then getting to spend the day driving to Park City with her to stay the week.

Baby Names

So I was talking with the kids tonight and asking them what we should name the baby. Most of the names I threw out the girls said ya that's good but McKoy oh no he had some great suggestions for names, boys: Fossil, Rancher, Horse, Scientist, Buckaroo, or something dinosaur like! He simply had no girls names cause well it is going to be a boy he needs a brother and he will just call him Buckaroo or Fossil no matter what we name him! He must take after his dad for creative names! hahaha

Tess is also fascinated with the baby, of course she is the little Mommy, and she is always saying to me "when the baby comes out, I buckle him in the car seat, or I will walk and the baby can ride in the stroller, or he can sit in this chair for dinner, or I change the boy diaper and you change the girl diaper, as if we were getting two babies one for her and one for me!

Ashton loves to hug and poke at my belly always asking where is the head and butt and feet, and she can usually find a foot to push around or kick her. As Matt says the baby still running around in there, it dose not take long to get a lot of movement out of this one, you can sit and watch my belly, really looks like it is running laps in there! Ash's name suggestion for a boy was Gavit, never heard that one before, but she usually comes up with her version of a name she has heard on TV. I wish I could remember some more of her names.

Hopefully we will get a name figured out sooner than later as time is getting closer. Will be fun to see if its a boy or a girl and see the kids reaction. I think they are excited, I am getting really ready to hold this little one as well.

Lightning

What are the odds of being hit by lightning? I don't know really but it would seem not that high. Matt was hit last night along with some friends. They were over to the Grande Ranch and 5 or 6 of them standing around the pickup at the flat bed and the storm rolled in. In minutes a loud crack of thunder and seconds later lightning struck something near them. It went in at Matt's hip and he felt it go down his leg and out his spur, another was leaning on the flat bed felt it go in his stomach, another who was turning a horse loose closing the gate felt it in his arm and one of the boys saw a ark of electricity on the gate of the driveway. None of them were hurt thank goodness. Matt said it was so loud and felt like someone had stuck the hotshot on him and held it there. I guess he can now say he has been hit by lightning and in an earth quake in the last 2 years, things that seem not to common to me! Crazier things have happened I guess!

Aug 3rd Kids Rodeo

Here is Tess's Queening grin as she goes out to do her event, she is always looking out to the crowd and if you yell go Tessie she really loves it! Look how much she is looking like Ash, from behind they are easy to mistake!

That flag is a ways down for Tess to reach but she got it first try!
Here is Koy sticking the flag in the first bucket he was pretty fast at this!
And Ash also did a quick job of grabbing the flag, she to had to reach a bit!
Monday night was another kids rodeo. It was 95 at 6pm and the hot wind was blowing, got to love August! Ashton did really well this time she trotted all the events and was so proud of herself this was her fastest times so far. McKoy also did very well he is excited and loving to ride these days, he loves the fun event his age group had two flags and carried one flag and put it in the first bucket and then picked up the other flag out of the other bucket. Tess did the new fun event to and for her age group they had to grab a flag out of a bucket on top of the barrel and she leaned way over and grabbed it with the biggest grin. She cracks us up cause she looks at the crowd with the biggest grin like look at me!

Winning Streek!

Went to the Dr. on Thursday, dose not look like this baby will come early. Healthy is what we are after so I guess we will be patient! What else can we do!! Matt headed for Burley with some cows for the sale this day to, he blew a tire on the trailer on the way in, but the good news the cattle market was up!

Matt was up on Friday night at the Rupert Rodeo riding a stock saddle bronc, he tied for first with 74 points, brought home another good check. We were glad to see Ben, Audra and Hallie there, we finally had a minute to visit. Frank also made the drive up he is a lot of help behind the chutes.

Saturday night we went to Grouse to a fundraiser jackpot and round robin ropin, Matt won both of those rounds and got 2 more good checks. Despite the delay on the way over with another flat tire on the trailer, a rock went in, it did not go completely flat so we made it to Gordon's and got it plugged up! We were not the only one's with tire trouble this night, 2 of our good friends also had flat tires on the way to the ropin, 2 outfits and 4 flat tires! It must be summer time!

Don't know where the rodeo luck is coming from but we are loving it while it is here!

Happy Birthday Quaid!

Tessy posing after doting her face in the icing on the cupcake!

Isaac, Gabe, Ian, Quaid, Ash and Tess. Koy was still climbing the shade tree.

Quaid your 1!

Happy first Birthday Quaid, we had a great time at the Spratling's on the 28th of July. Little Quaid grew so fast. Dinner hit the spot and the cupcakes Koy just could not get enough of them! The kids keep asking when we can go back and play. And thank you to Nana and Aunt Sarah for watching Koy, Ash and Tess while I ran into Elko and licenced the burb. It was a late night getting home but worth it, I got a flat tire on the way home but was close enough to the house (so I justified!) to just keep on driving home instead of changing it. Come to find out the tires on the burb are only 4 ply, that is just to thin for gravel so we need to buy new treads on that outfit to! We have had a lot of tire trouble lately.
