Tulips, WATER, Flooding, .......Life

The first ever in 8 years of living here, the tulips in the yard did not freeze before budding and blooming. So to keep it real there is only one plant and like 5 buds but hey, I'll take them...they are so pretty...

 Goose Creek is doing more than running bank to bank, its flooded the meadow. You can not even make out the natural river bed there is so much water.

And it has reached the road in front of our yard, which means, our septic drain field is under 2 feet of water, and that leads to water on the basement floor. Yuck cause yes it came from the sewer. So we have been busy cleaning and pumping. We hope the lake out front goes down before the kids get the raft blown up!

Today made me say Hummmmm,,,,,,,,

One of those days that is all over the place........

Bed time talk...... After we put the kids in bed tonight I hear them talking and stopped to hear them for a minute. they were talking about being twitter paited like on Bambi when the characters fall in love. So Koy says well I am not going to get twitter paited till I'm 18, but most kids get that way when they are 15 but not me! Ash says well I'm going to when I'm 6. Tess says well I like Mike so am I twitter paited? Koy says well I guess but, the girl I might like better hate dresses and princess things. Tess says I'm not listening!

Earlier today Ash said Mom I want to live on a farm when I grow up so the rooster  will wake me up in the morning. Then Tess says I want to live by Ash. Then Ash says if we have kids they can play with each other like Talon.

The morning began slow today for some reason. McKoy was taking his sweet time with math he was on his last 6 problems and had a melt down. Not sure what provoked it. He and I continued to go the rounds about getting his work done for quite some time. He was getting madder and more stubborn by the minute and I more frustrated. By lunch time he was so mad at me he walked by and handed me a mothers day card he had made. Where ever it had the work happy written he wrote bad above it and where he had love written he put hate. Wow he was mad, I was a little hurt but considering the morning and his anger toward me in making him finish his assignment, it actually struck me kinda funny.  So later Matt was in for lunch and I was telling him the morning happenings, and I showed him the card, Koy was  there and Matt said whoa Koy. Koy replies with " It had to be done" and walks out of the room, the way he said it so matter of fact. At this point the whole thing was hilarious, Matt smiled as did I then started to laugh, we did not know if we should punish him of laugh it out. Its still so funny. I did later get and apology from him. 

Challas has been giving mom the shaft more and more lately. Daddo is his favorite person, he will push me away if daddo is holding him and and say utha. Tonight after his bath I was getting him dressed and he says daddo, daddo, so I say you want daddo to rock you. He replies with Ma baba as he is reaching for daddo. He wanted me to get his baba so daddo could rock him he is so funny.  He acts like a little man so fun to watch him do things I got to get it on video.

Let them be little.......

Our kid moments lately cute, messy and adorable.....

Koy- "Mom I think Nana liked us coming over to stay cause Pops has been gone for a lot of days and she needed some company." Also he informed me the he is going to be a alligator and turtle farmer and no one is changing his mind.....

Challas- During branding on Wednesday, a little short handed the ground crew had lots of jobs, I was giving shots and tagging. Challas wanted to stick with mom and grabbed the tagger, I showed him how to load the tags and to the best of his ability he got some of the buttons on the right way and quite a few of the tags in there. But the more surprising thing was how long he stuck with it, for about 2 hours. The best part he marched out to most of the calves packing the loaded tagger then handed it to me to tag and then I handed it back to him. If I told him to stay at the truck or forgot to give the tagger back to him he got the lip out and was fixing to be too sad, it was to cute. He likes to be helpful and to be given a job. 

Tess- She brushed her teeth before dinner on Tuesday night which is out of the ordinary usually its before bed.  After being gone a lot the few days before and in town all day Tuesday there was no time for house cleaning and it was in need, so  I am frantically cleaning the house so the branding crew can eat lunch there  on wed. I walked into the bathroom to straighten up to find a mess. Tess had left the water in the sink on wide open for who knows how long, water was everywhere. The counter tops, floor, drawers and rug were full of water, it was also running down the heat vent to the basement.  Oh man that was the last thing I had time to clean at 9pm. I can smile now, but I don't think Tess will be forgetting to turn off the water any time soon. She got the go straight to bed card with out passing go or collecting any money..... Oh my it was such a mess and I was so mad......

Ashton- She was glued to a race horse documentary and I asked her to get her PJ's on and she gives me the annoyed look and says " a I'm watching horses" as she is holding up her hands. As if I should know not to bug her when there is a horse on TV.

After this week 2 more weeks of school to go. yeah we are ready for summer. May is a hard month to fit school in, so we will be ready to be free.

The kids are growing up so fast, messes and all we are having fun watching them grow up.
