South America

With our home schooling program we have been studding animals in different habitats last week and this week is rain forests. So as part of our lesson today the children were ask to create their own rain forest on paper, they could paint cut and paste, color or what ever they wanted. Then they were to present them at show and tell, yes even home school dose show and tell!

So after dinner we all gathered in the living room to do show and tell, Koy went first, his rain forest had a anaconda snake and a poisonous frog, he was able to answer most of our questions about several animals, the rain forest and what ever else we could think of that related.

Ashton was next, her rain forest had a capybara mother and baby,and some interesting rock shapes, she to was able to answer a few questions about capybaras and the rain forest. She was also really proud she had written her full name on the back of her paper, she writes very well.

So last it was Tess's turn, she got up there in front of the fire place fell off the rocking horse that she planed to sit on, after the crying was over she did manage to perch on that horse side saddle in her fancy dress! She began, "this is a square shape", as she pointed to different parts of her paper,"this is a buckanaw shape and this one a triangle" the shapes got more and more interesting as we went on. Truly she was winging it after her older siblings had landed some big important words she could not be out done. Then she pointed to a big brown piece of construction paper in a rectangular shape and said "and this is South America and I would like to go to South America", she kept repeating South America as if she was so proud she could drop some big intelligent words to. She was so funny I just keep wishing I had grabbed the video, next week I will have it handy. She is quite the actress! Where did we get her any way?? All her performances are quite funny.

I can not believe that the kids are this old, and Challas is going to be 5 months this month. They are growing up so fast. I want them to stay little. Koy and Ash are going to be 7 and 5 next month, holy cow. Got to savor every day! Pretty soon they will want to borrow the truck to go to town! Yikes!!!

Challas's 2nd hair cut! Jan 4th

So no more punk bang! Before below, after above.




Challas is on his second hair cut at only 4 months. He had a reverse old man balding thing going. Very little hair every where except the top front bang, and it was long like 1 3/4 inch. He looked a little punked! So we decided to trim that part short like the rest of his hair. He looks 2 months older, tuff guy!!! Check out the before and afters. It was hard to cut his hair off for me he had, had it since birth! The new hair coming in is a lot lighter. He really is a doll, so happy and his laugh is so fun, not to mention he is sleeping through the night, none of the others did that till they were almost a year old, bonus for me! He is still a bottomless pit, we started mush he loves it and attacks the spoon, then spits it all over and laughs! Ashton loves to get him laughing and grinning, Koy can not wait till he can play boy toys with him and Tess can't hug him enough.

Saturday 1-2-10

Stacey, Jhet and Eric came over to visit. Challas was trying to eat Jhet! Well kinda, he was eating his hand. Cute cousins.

2010 A New Year already!

Well Happy New year! We spent the New Year home and it snowed 18 inches! Sure made for a fun place to play. The kids loved sledding with Uncle Chad and Talon over the weekend, and Grandma and Grandpa made a surprise visit to see us to. Can't tell you how great it is to hear the kids laughing and having fun together, their rosie red cheeks and hot chocolate requests to cute. We are still laughing at little Talon, he says the cutest things!

Christmas

We had a great time with the family at Christmas. The picture of the kids on the couch just before we left, all dressed festive! We all stayed at Nana and Pop's house Christmas eve, we went to the Christmas party in G.C. it was fun to see everyone, Santa came and the kids were real eager to sit on his lap and make sure he knew what to leave under the tree. Christmas morning was full of happy kids! Koy got his Bakugan toys, Ashton got her microphone, Tess got 3 new princess dresses and Challas got some fun tub toys. The day went quickly but we enjoyed visiting with everyone. I was a bit on the stressed side Ashton was on the 7th day of a fever and I was not sure why, her normal fevers last only 4 days. We ended up at the Dr.'s office on Monday, but by then the fever was gone and its still a bit of a mystery what it was. Hence the picture of her she looks a bit peak id, she just layed on the couch most of the day. I did not get many pics that day. Challas was so tired he slept through most of the present opening and then took a long nap during the day. McKoy played with the cousins and his new toys, we did not hear much from him all day. Tess played with Hallie and her new toys, she also took a good nap. Matt came home and fed the cows and was back in time for dinner. Why dose Christmas go so fast every year, its almost a blur the day goes so rapid.

More December Fun!

More pictures, one of the girls, Tess, Hallie and Ashton at the 2nd dance recital in mid December, they really did a good job and danced the entire dance. The one of the kids in the snow is when we went up to Pinney, one afternoon, to get our Christmas tree, that was a blistery cold day and the wind was blowing so hard, the kids still had fun trekking through the snow and picking out trees. We opened a few gifts early this year, here is a picture of what the kids opened from Grandma and Grandpa, they sure loved all their gifts. I love this picture of the kids in their PJ's glued to the TV they were watching the Polar Express, they sure enjoyed all the Christmas shows.

More December fun!

We enjoyed a few days at Grandma and Grandpas house. Sure was fun to see everyone. We got to watch Talon and Paisley one night and enjoyed every minute, here are some pictures we took. McKoy loved staying at Aunts house and playing with Alec and his buds, he can not stop talking about how cool his cousin Alec is and when are we going back to his house. Can't wait to go back and see everyone again!

December fun!

The Girls first dance recital at the festival of trees. Santa was also there and the kids got to visit him and tell him what they wanted for Christmas. I will say he got it right this year! Challas to cute at 3 1/2 months in his Santa hat.
